Eating and drinking

Our cafe, Palette, the Art of Taste, serves delicious breakfasts, fair trade coffees and mouth-watering cakes, light lunches and afternoon teas. 

High chairs and children’s booster seats are available to borrow from the cafe. Palette, the Art of Taste, also provides a bottle warming service. If there is anything else that you need while you’re visiting the cafe, please ask a member of cafe staff who will be very happy to help.

There is a drinking fountain located on the ground floor, next to the toilets.

Entrances

There are two public entrances to The Lightbox, from Chobham Road or from Brewery Road car park/Gloucester walk. Both entrances have level access for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Garden

The Lightbox has a hard surfaced courtyard garden that is open to the public at the same times as the building. There is a children’s playground on Wheatsheaf Common, about 200m from The Lightbox. Exit the building at the Chobham Road end (the opposite end to the cafe) and walk to the left along Chobham Road. Go straight on at the mini roundabout and the playground and common are on the right.

Pushchairs

All of the building is pushchair friendly. You are welcome to take pushchairs into the gallery spaces if you would like. Alternatively, pushchairs can be left under the main staircase on the first floor or securely stored in a front of house cupboard, just ask at the information desk on the ground floor.

Seating

Benches are located throughout the building on all floors. Portable stools are also available to borrow from the reception desk on the ground floor.

Toilets

Fully accessible toilets are located on each floor.

Baby changing

There are unisex baby changing facilities available in the accessible toilet on the ground floor.

Lost property

Please ask at the reception desk on the ground floor.

Lifts

All areas of the building are accessible by a large lift.
