Our Team

Lightbox Gallery & Museum staff encompass a range of responsibilities and expertise.

Our team is integral to the successful operation of the organisation and comprises full-time and part-time employees and freelance personnel.

Sarah Brown, Director

Sarah Brown joined The Lightbox in December 2021 and was previously Principal Keeper at Leeds Art Gallery overseeing all aspects of the artistic programme and was responsible for the capital refurbishment following its reopening in 2017.

As a founding member of Yorkshire Sculpture International, Sarah was pivotal in establishing this festival celebrating the history, presentation and commissioning of sculpture which launched in 2019. An experienced fundraiser within both the public and private sector, Sarah has a strong record of raising funds from trusts, foundations and in developing commercial corporate partnerships.

The Exhibitions Team are responsible for curating our displays, managing our collections, and developing our future exhibitions programme as well as running the talks and tours.

This department manages the marketing and communications programme, working with our external PR to ensure messages are aligned across our channels.

Development

The role of the development is to drive donations and philanthropy from individuals and corporates.

Database management

To ensure that we run an effective and compliant database, the database manager is responsible for ensuring that the data is up to date and in keeping with GDPR rules.
