Explore what artworks are made from in this discovery session that takes you on a tour of our galleries and investigates mystery materials in an object handling session. This discovery session takes children on a tour of the galleries, encouraging fascination with artworks and developing descriptive language skills. After comparing the material properties of artwork can, students will then make their own mini gallery to take back to school with them.
The art of storytelling
In this imaginative session students will go on a tour of the galleries to discover the narratives nestled in the art, inspiring their own story making as a group. They will then participate in a workshop that brings their story to life through puppet-making.
Portraits
Portraiture is an excellent exercise in personal development for children. We will take students on a tour of the portraits in the galleries before giving them the opportunity to produce their own clay head to take away based on their own self-portrait drawings.
Heritage
Discover the coming of the railway to Woking, the story of local inventor and entrepreneur, Kenneth Wood, or handle original Tudor artefacts from Woking Palace in our heritage sessions, designed to foster an understanding of how people’s lives have shaped this nation.
Bespoke session
Tell us what you have in mind, and we'll design a bespoke session just for you. Students will take part in gallery activities focusing on artworks or current exhibitions of your choosing, evaluating and analyzing creative works followed by a workshop that develops their artistic skills.
